Fantastic book. My two youngest kids - my son and daughter, respectively - loved the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Do it Yourself book. It actually was for my son, but my daughter kept stealing it from him and writing her own things in it, thus creating arguments (typical for those two anyway). Now they both want more Wimpy Kid books from the series and she wants her own Do It Yourself book. I now have ideas for useful birthday and Christmas presents that's not another toy and motivates them to put their day and thoughts in written words and do so creatively. THANK YOU Jeff Kinney. As a longtime sportswriter, I feel writing, especially a journal or diary, is very important at every age. :)

Engaging and Interactive January 10, 2010

My 10 year old son loved this book. Within minutes he was reading, writing, drawing... and most importantly using his imagination! Does use some bathroom humor, but my son thought that was hilarious. Offers lots of different things to do with examples on one side and room for your child's own thoughts or drawings on the other. Really encourages your child to get creative. Has quizzes, comic strips etc. Plenty of fun stuff that my child had a blast with. Also includes blank, lined pages so that your child has room to journal.
Has held his interest for longer than I thought it would. I see him from time to time carrying the book around with a pencil in hand. When he get quiet and I ask what he's doing he replies "Writing in my book"! He's not a studious child so this has been a remarkable experience for me!

I bought this for a gift for an 8 year old girl. She absolutely loved it. There are many fun activity pages allowing for creativity & artisitc ability as well.

I ordered this book after i saw it at walmart for twice as much money and my 12 year old son just loved it. He opened it christmas morning and couldnt put it down all day. He had alot of other neat presents but this was his favorite.
